THROUGH THE WIRE
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Through the Wire is a new radio show created and hosted by Chris Blackwell, an incarcerated individual and advocate for prison reform. Broadcasting through the prison phone system, the show gives voice to Chris and other incarcerated individuals, offering listeners a rare perspective from inside the walls. Chris wanted a visual identity that would capture both the rawness of this setup and the community-driven mission behind it.
MY ROLE
I collaborated directly with Chris to design the logo and overall brand identity. My role included conceptual development, logo design, and creating assets that could be applied across social media, merchandise, and digital platforms.
the solution
To reflect the unique circumstances of the show, I drew inspiration from the classic prison telephone — an image instantly recognizable and symbolically powerful. I integrated elements of Chris’s nonprofit, Look2Justice, into the design to highlight the broader mission of supporting incarcerated individuals. The result was a bold and versatile logo that embodies both the show’s authenticity and its advocacy.
the result
The final branding provided a strong foundation for Through the Wire’s launch, giving the show a professional, memorable identity. With a logo that resonates both visually and symbolically, the radio show entered the world with a solid creative platform to grow its presence across media and community channels.
